Mother’s Day provides a timely reminder that there’s still time to attend, or even host, a Pink Ribbon event during May, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“Rally your community and be part of something that truly matters,” says Ah-Leen Rayner, chief executive of the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. “Whether it’s morning tea at work, brunch with friends or a large community event, every gathering helps ensure we can continue supporting affected Kiwis.”
Franklin has assisted through numerous events with more to come.
The Breast Cancer Foundation supports cancer education, breast cancer research and patient support services.
“Each year, around 1,100 women across the greater Auckland region are diagnosed with breast cancer, and Pink Ribbon Breakfasts help fund vital support, research and education. Without enough hosts, we risk losing millions of dollars in funding for programs that save lives.”
Without continued support, essential programmes that thousands of New Zealanders depend on each year could be at risk.
“Breast cancer doesn’t stop during tough times and, as a community, neither can we.”
