One person is in critical condition after a crash on the South-Western Motorway near Māngere early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle collision, involving a car and a truck, at around 4am. The crash happened on the northbound lanes near the Coronation Road off-ramp.
The driver of the car had to be extracted from the vehicle and was taken to Auckland City Hospital in a critical condition.
Two northbound lanes were closed for a period while the Serious Crash Unit carried out a scene examination.
Police say enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
