Families flocked to Pukekohe for School Holidays in the Square recently, an event that set a beat everyone could dance to.
Performances by drumming group, Kids’ Beats, set the tune but there was much more on the set list.
The rain stayed away but the people didn’t, Pukekohe Business Association (PBA) GM, Shawna Coleman, confirms.
“We were thrilled with how the School Holidays in the Square event went. Despite some rough weather earlier in the morning, the clouds cleared and the crowds still came out in force, creating a fantastic atmosphere.”
Activities kept children busy at the Town Square as well as the Roulston Street car park and in Roulston Hall, incidentally a former home of the Franklin Times. In addition to rides and games, other highlights included visits by Blitz, the Franklin Bulls mascot, and Harold the giraffe from Life Education, as well as the Circability circus troupe offering juggling lessons.
“It was great to see so many families enjoying the activities and there was a real sense that everyone had a good time,” Coleman adds. “We’re always pleasantly surprised by how far people travel to be part of it too, which speaks volumes about the event’s growing reputation.”
PBA managed to keep so many plates (and more) in the air and on the ball while ensuring a good time was had by all.
