Overnight maintenance projects are set for the State Highway 1 (SH1) Redoubt Road interchange in May. Motorists may experience delays, NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) confirms.
SH1 Redoubt Road
The SH1 southbound to State Highway 20 (SH20) northbound link will be closed overnight for stormwater maintenance:
- Friday 1 and Saturday May 2 between 9pm and 7am (10-hour shifts)
- Sunday May 3 between 9pm and 5am
Motorists are advised to use the Redoubt Road southbound off-ramp and detour via Redoubt Road and Manukau Station Road to SH20 Lambie Drive northbound on-ramp.
When the closure is in place, there will also be southbound lane restrictions on SH1 near the Redoubt Road interchange.
Because the work requires longer than the usual eight-hour maintenance shift, NZTA will be carrying this out on Friday and Saturday night when traffic volumes are lighter.
In addition, southbound lanes from SH1 Redoubt Road to Takanini interchange will be closed on May 2, between 11pm to 7am, for paving maintenance near the stormwater works.
SH1 Redoubt Road overbridge
There will be road closures on the Redoubt Road overbridge (local road) over SH1 to carry out bridge repairs.
- Full westbound closure between Diorella Drive and Great South Road from Sunday 10 to Monday May 18 between 9pm and 5am (excluding Friday and Saturday nights)
- Full eastbound closure between Great South Road and the Redoubt Road southbound off-ramp from Sunday 24 to Thursday May 28 between 9pm and 5am.
Detours are signposted.
Nearby properties may experience increased noise levels while the team complete the work.
