A fire in a Drury garage has been contained by crew from Fire and Emergency New Zealand this morning.
Three fire trucks were called to a residential property in Great South Road after “multiple calls” were made to FENZ.
Northern Fire Communications manager Ryan Geen told the Franklin Times that the fire was contained within half an hour.
“At 8.15am we received multiple calls reporting a structure fire in Drury,” he says.
“Crew found a residential garage ablaze, it was well involved and was endangering a neighbouring property.”
Geen says the fire had been contained by 8.40am.
“There were no injuries and everyone was out of the house.”
A spokesperson for Hato Hone St John says it was notified at 8.17am this morning and was on standby at the scene but was not required.
