Counties Manukau Police say they’re attending a scene in Rongomai Park after a report of what is believed to be a body in water.
A member of the public contacted police about the discovery at 4.08pm today, June 22.
“The scene is at a secluded pond within the park, near Ōtara,” say police.
“Police Search and Rescue are in attendance to reach the area and undertake a recovery operation.
“Walkway entrances into Rongomai Park have temporarily been cordoned off while police continue our work at the scene.”
Further public updates will be provided when information is available, police say.
