A community initiative to fund the revamp of birthing facilities at Pukehohe Hospital is ramping up.
A fundraising quiz night will be held on May 8, at Parklands, the renovated clubrooms at Pukekohe Golf Course.
Last year Franklin accounting firm Campbell Tyson teamed up with the Middlemore Foundation to raise money for the renovation of Pukekohe’s two birthing rooms.
Anna Varma, of Campbell Tyson, said that for over 70 years, Pukekohe Hospital has been at the heart of the community.
“One of our major fundraising events will be our quiz night fundraiser, a fun community evening bringing people together for friendly competition and a great cause. It will be a fantastic night with a quiz, auctions, prizes, food and a bit of fun (with a DJ to finish) — all while helping support the renovation of the birthing suites.”
There are still a few tables left, so if you’re interested in coming along, or being an auction item or prize sponsor, please get in touch with Anna via email a.varma@ct.co.nz.
Together with the Middlemore Foundation, Campbell Tyson launched a campaign to raise funds for the renovation of the birthing suites. The initial fundraising target is $100,000, which would ensure a basic upgrade of the two birthing rooms. As of the end of April, $10,226 (includes March/April fundraisers) has already been raised, Varma says.
