A man is due to appear in court tomorrow, charged in relation to the homicide of a woman found in a car in Waiuku on Friday.
A homicide investigation was launched yesterday after a woman’s body was discovered in a vehicle in the Waiuku area about 5.40pm on Friday.
Detective Inspector Karen Bright, of Counties Manukau Police, says a 50-year-old man is due to appear in the Pukekohe District Court on Monday, charged with male assaults female.
Police cannot rule out further charges, she says.
A post-mortem was conducted today.
Scene examinations at two locations in the area are ongoing as part of police enquiries, Bright says.
The Franklin Times understands one of these locations is the Otaua Hall, with witnesses describing seeing a police tent and cordon outside the hall on Saturday morning.
Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the woman’s death.
