Police have charged a man in relation to a homicide in south Auckland on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to property in Beatty Street, Ōtāhuhu, at about 8.30pm following a report of a person being seriously injured.
A man was transported to hospital but later died of his injuries.
Detective Inspector Karen Bright, of Counties Manukau Police criminal investigation branch, says a man was taken into custody yesterday afternoon, June 30, and police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the investigation.
“A 31-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and will appear in Manukau District Court today.
“This is a great result and police haven’t ruled out the possibility of further charges.”
Bright says the investigation remains ongoing and she thanks those who came forward to speak with police.
