Two people have died while travelling on Franklin roads today, February 9.
Police attended a sudden death on State Highway 22 near the Drury on-ramp to the Southern Motorway this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 7.30am, where a passenger in a vehicle died.
A spokesperson for Hato Hone St John said one ambulance, one rapid response unit, and one operations manager attended at 7.24am.
The death will be referred to the Coroner. Police say the incident was not reported as a crash.

A witness says they saw first responders administering CPR at the scene.
The incident comes as emergency services also responded to a fatal crash in Buckland.
“One person has died following a serious crash on Logan Road, Buckland, this morning,” police said in a statement this afternoon.
Police say they were notified of the single-vehicle crash involving a truck and trailer unit on Logan Road at 7.32am.

“Initial reports indicate there may be serious injuries,” a spokesperson said earlier today.
Fire and Emergency shift manager Josh Pennefather told the Franklin Times that three fire appliances were sent, including one heavy rescue appliance with equipment designed to assist trucks.
“One person was trapped in the cab of the vehicle, and we were working to get them out,” he said.
Hato Hone St John said they were “notified of a motor vehicle incident on Logan Road, Buckland, at 7.32am today.
“One ambulance, one rapid response unit, one operations manager, and one helicopter attended.”
A spokesperson for Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter said, “crew were tasked at 7.59am this morning to Pukekohe to assist at a motor vehicle accident. Transportation by helicopter was not required, and crew returned to base.”
Southern Districts Towing has four heavy salvage vehicles at the scene this afternoon.
Logan Road is still closed between Yates and Buckville Roads while the Serious Crash Unit examines the scene.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
