Counties Manukau Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at a Takanini petrol station this morning.
The Franklin Times understands it was a Gull Service station.
“At around 3am, three offenders arrived on the Porchester Road forecourt in a Toyota Aqua,” Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Paea, Counties Manukau Major Crime Team says.

“The offenders have exited the vehicle and smashed one of the screen doors to enter the store.
“Inside they made verbal threats towards the staff member working at the time. During the incident, this worker was assaulted by one of the offenders.
“The offenders have proceeded to steal the store’s till as well as cigarettes before fleeing in the Toyota Aqua.”
Paea says inquiries into the offending are still in the early stages, and is asking anyone with information to contact Police.
