One person has died and another has been seriously injured after a three-wheeled motorbike hit a tree on Waiheke Island this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Ocean View Road in Oneroa just before 2pm.
Police say one person died at the scene, while another was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised, and Ocean View Road near Goodwin Avenue was closed while they carried out a scene examination.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
