Waikato Police are appealing for information after a man was shot and seriously injured at a property in Hamilton late last night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Reece Durston said officers were called to Sapphire Place in Chartwell at about 11.50pm on Thursday, 27 November, following reports of a shooting.
A 37-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds and taken to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition. He remains in a stable state.
Police believe the shooting was targeted.
Investigators are seeking CCTV footage or any information from residents in and around Sapphire Place from late last night that may assist the inquiry.
The investigation team is also looking to identify two vehicles, one red and one white, that were seen in the area at the time. Police believe the vehicles may have been travelling in convoy and could help provide clarity on what happened.
A scene examination is underway today, and Police say the community can expect to see officers in the area as enquiries continue.
