Police say they’re investigating the unexplained death of a woman on Thursday night.
Just after 9.30pm on August 7, emergency services were called to an apartment block on Cracroft Street, in Parnell, Auckland City Police say.
“A woman was located unresponsive inside a unit, and on ambulance staff attending, she was pronounced deceased,” says Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Friend.
“The circumstances of her death are unclear, and police have commenced an investigation into what has occurred.
“At this very early stage, we are treating the woman’s death as unexplained.”
Police say they have had two scene guards in place at the unit overnight.
Friend says a scene examination is beginning this Friday morning.
“As part of our investigation, a post-mortem is scheduled to be carried out today.
“Police will remain in the Parnell area as part of our enquiries.”
