The ballots have been cast and the results are in confirming Clare Alder (Team Franklin) as the newest member of the Franklin Local Board.
In a relatively tight race, Alder secured 1630 votes, pipping independent Tom Vanderlaan (1520) to be first past the post. Chris Caldwell secured 358 votes followed by Nick Corlett with 225.
A local business owner, entrepreneur and mum, Alder is expecting to bring business and leadership experience to the table while focusing on rural communities, supporting families and backing small businesses.
Lou-Ann Ballantyne, Auckland Council’s GM of governance and engagement, has applauded Alder on the result.
“I congratulate Clare Alder and welcome her to the Franklin Local Board for the remainder of the 2025-2028 electoral term,” she says.
