Police have completed a search warrant at a Seddon Street address in Waharoa following an operation that temporarily closed part of State Highway 27 earlier this morning.
The Armed Offenders Squad attended as a precaution while officers worked to locate a person of interest. They were not found, and enquiries are ongoing, a police spokesperson says.
The road has now reopened, and motorists should no longer expect delays.
A spokesperson from a nearby Seddon Street shop earlier told the Franklin Times he could see several police cars in the area and that a checkpoint appeared to be in place.
Police thanked the public for their patience during the operation and the brief road closures.
