Voting has now opened in the Franklin Local Board by-election.
Eligible voters – in the Wairoa subdivision – can expect to receive voting papers by this Thursday, May 14.
Voting closes at midday on Wednesday 10 June.
The Electoral Office can confirm voter eligibility and explain how to cast a special vote.
People receiving voting papers addressed to someone else (such as a previous occupant of the property) should cross out the address, write GNA (Gone No Address). The envelope should then be dropped into a NZ Post box or one of the elections voting boxes so records can be updated.
Suspicious activity – such as anyone going through letterboxes or asking for voter papers on the doorstep – should be reported to the electoral officer at info@electionservices.co.nz (or by calling 0800 922 822) or police by calling 105.
Visit www.voteauckland.co.nz for more information, including candidate profiles and a list of ballot box locations.
