Daniel Newman has been re-elected to the Manurewa-Papakura Ward for another term with a polling count of 12,965.
Newman said he was grateful for the support he had received from his electorate and was looking forward to playing his part.
“I’m delighted for the result that’s been achieved, and humbled that my community would re-elect me and elect my colleagues.
“Every election was difficult, but this one was particularly personal. But it shows that my opponents that went low and dirty didn’t succeed.”
Matt Winiata has also been elected to the Manurewa-Papakura ward role and had previously been Manurewa Local Board chair.
“I’m proud to continue the work I’ve left as Manurewa Local Board chair, and I can’t thank the supporters of myself and the team, and this beautiful community enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Meanwhile, the new Papakura Local Board is set to be: Brent Catchpole, Andrew Webster, Felicity Jane Auva’a, Jane Robinson, George Hawkins, and Kelvin Hieatt.
