Buckland Hall is holding the popular Franklin’s Got Talent competition and everyone’s invited to show off their skills.
The competition is open to people aged 10 or older. This includes singers, dancers, comedians, and even animal acts. All are welcome, the hall’s administrator Fran Farrant says.
“It’s an opportunity to discover the hidden talents we have in New Zealand. If you name it, and if it entertains people on a stage, we’d love to see it!”
Competition judges include music critic and Newstalk ZB host Tim Roxborogh, musical theatre performer Lisa Lorrell and magician and illusionist Andre Vegas.
The first Franklin’s Got Talent show in September was a huge success.
“It was an amazing event, and so many people said it was like a major production,” Farrant says. “Last year’s winner was Jess Rilley, a 34-year-old single mother who sang Never Enough from the The Greatest Showman. It was an amazing rendition; she was shaking like a leaf, but she went on to win the first prize.”
Entries for the contest close May 22 ahead of the showcase on June 20. The winner will receive $1500 with $500 on the line for the runners-up. Click here for more information.
