State Highway 1, Meremere is closed near Island Block Road following a crash.
Police say two-vehicle crash was reported at around 7.40pm.
One person has been critically injured.
A spokesperson from Hato Hone St John said two ambulances, one manager, and two rapid response vehicles attended the crash.
One patient was assessed at the scene and transported to Middlemore Hospital in a critical condition.
