
All lanes are now open following a scrub fire on the side of the Southern Motorway this afternoon.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) were called to the scrub fire next to the southbound lanes between Drury and Ramarama shortly after 2pm.
The fire caused significant delays with traffic down to one lane, before fully reopening at 3pm.
Fenz appliances from Papakura, Pokeno, and Tuakau attended.
New Zealand Transport Agency is warning of delays northbound and southbound through the area until congestion eases.
- A crash closed State Highway 22 between Pukekohe and Drury at about 6.20am this morning, between Jesmond and Whangapouri Roads. The road was fully re-opened shortly after 9am.
