Firefighters attended a fire at a car wrecker’s yard in Papakura this afternoon, August 8.
Northern Fire Communications shift manager Michael Anderson said Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) received multiple calls to a car wreckers yard on fire in Red Hill, Papakura shortly before 4pm.
“This was in the commercial area of Red Hill, with eight vehicles reported to be on fire.
“Seven fire trucks, including a ladder truck, attended, with the fire extinguished around 4.44pm.”
Anderson said a fire investigator was carrying out a scene examination.
