Police have seized a cache of weapons as part of an ongoing investigation into a family harm incident in Māngere.
Counties Manukau West Police were called to a Māngere address on Sunday afternoon after reports of a disagreement between family members.
Area Response Manager Senior Sergeant Steve Albrey said a firearm was allegedly presented during the incident.
“The man left the address in a vehicle along with an associate, and Police were contacted,” he said.
Police later located the vehicle leaving a Kirkbride Road address and carried out an armed traffic stop, taking the driver into custody.
Officers then returned to the Kirkbride Road property and carried out an armed approach and search of the address.

Inside, Police seized a range of firearms and ammunition, including a pistol, revolver, pump-action shotgun and two rifles. A crossbow and an imitation pistol were also recovered.
Police also stopped a second vehicle in connection with the incident and took the driver into custody.
“Our enquiries are continuing, and we expect charges will be laid,” Senior Sergeant Albrey said.
“It’s a good outcome for the Māngere community that these firearms are now out of circulation.”
