Pukekohe will be the winner on the day (on May 15) as contestants aiming to become Horticulture NZ’s Young Grower of the Year are taking their first step towards national accolades.
Pukekohe Young Grower sees commercial fruit and vegetable growers from across Franklin compete in various practical and theoretical challenges aimed at assessing their horticultural knowledge and skills.
The event will conclude with a gala dinner at La Valla, Tuakau, featuring speeches from each contestant before the winner is confirmed.
The best of the best from Franklin will progress to contest the national Young Grower title later this year.
